The Dark
The Dark, Lofter's new EP, is out now!
The Dark is a pretty angry and frustrated little record. The songs were all written during the pandemic, and I even started writing The One while I had a particularly nasty time with COVID (pre-vaccination). The Glow was written out of total frustration with the unfairness of our capitalist culture, and The Pain can be applied to victims of relational or institutional abuse. This is why it's called The Dark but it is also fun and could rock your world! These tracks have challenged me and taken my music to new levels so I'd love to hear from you if you've got anything to say - feel free to write to me.
One of the tracks, The Past, didn't quite make it onto the EP, but it'll be coming really soon on the next release, #nofilter, an acoustic session album that is already in progress and will be released later in 2022.
Lofter is Ant Clifford, James Cornell, Kim Eames, and Ben Cooper. The Dark EP has been supported by the talented Mike Rutter, Ollie Clifford, Laurence Keith, Andy Woods, Nick Parker, Grant Walker who helped make the music video, and is mixed by the brilliant Paul Galpin who is highly recommended. The Dark joins Lofter's previous releases, Detour, Liminal EP, and Raindrop.
